Our Bikeleasing employer indemnity insurance is concluded for each company bike, providing employers with excellent coverage for any employee drop-out.

The same applies to our Bikeleasing comfort insurance. It is included in each lease, providing coverage for theft, fall, accidental damage and much more. For wear & tear, inspections and any liability cases, we offer attractive add-on solutions.

By the way: The monthly insurance premiums are funded via salary conversion, just like the monthly lease payments for the company bike – including all associated tax breaks, thanks to the monetary benefit rule.

The premiums specified above include insurance tax. Company/pool bikes are subject to a surcharge of approx. 25% of the premiums specified.

Mobility guaranteed – just in case

To ensure that company bike users remain mobile even when their company bike is not – due to a breakdown or accident, for instance – the Bikeleasing comfort insurance includes a mobility guarantee, covering the cost of transporting unroadworthy bikes, e-bikes, luggage and trailers to the nearest workshop, to the destination or home, up to an amount of € 150 per claim.

Whether it’s a taxi cab, bus or train – company bike users should remain flexible and are entitled to select the means of transportation that suits them best. However, note that, in the event of self-organized, private transportation, our mobility guarantee reimburses a maximum of € 50, depending on the distance, rather than € 150. During the repair period, the insurance also covers the cost of a rental bike for a maximum of 14 days, up to a daily charge of € 25.

Bikeleasing employer indemnity insurance

Reimbursement of total lease payments

in the event of employee absence due to illness or accident

Premature take-back of bikes

in the event of termination by the employee or employer
in the case of a termination/severance agreement
in the case of employee’s disability for work
in the event of employee’s death

In the case of parental/maternal leave, the following options are available at the employee’s discretion:

Return of bike: the lease agreement is terminated by way of premature return of the bike, or
Reimbursement of lease payments: assumption of the lease payments (total) for up to a maximum of 18 months; lease agreement shall continue.

Bikeleasing liability & legal protection insurance (optional)

The Bikeleasing liability and legal protection insurance covers the eligible employee during private use of the company bike.

All private use outside working hours is covered, as well as the commute to work and the associated road traffic risks

Do you want to file a damage claim?

Has your company bike been damaged or stolen? Luckily, damage to the bike (including battery and motor) due to theft, vandalism, fall and many other cases are covered by the insurance.

You are welcome to report the damage to us via the Bikeleasing app – or leave this to your bike dealer who can report the damage via our Bikeleasing dealer portal.
The data we require to handle your insurance claim is stated on your Bikeleasing insurance card: name of the company bike user, frame number of bike, agreement number and Bikeleasing user ID
Further information we require to process your damage claim: date when damage occurred, place where damage occurred, description of the course of events that resulted in the damage with pictures/photos showing the damage. If the damage exceeds € 150, please send us the dealer’s cost estimate.
Note: In the event of theft (or theft of parts) or vandalism, a copy of the police report must be submitted with the damage claim. (The damaged needs to be reported to the police within five working days).

Questions about Bikeleasing insurances & services

Bikeleasing-Service offers different kinds of insurance policies to company bike users (valid worldwide, no deductible, no waiting period) plus an inspection service. The Bikeleasing comfort insurance is a mandatory part of any lease agreement, while the Bikeleasing wear and tear insurance and the inspection package (depending on what has been agreed upon with the employer) are optional add-ons.

Generally, as a company bike user, the employee is responsible for maintenance and repair of the company bike. If you decide to take out our optional Bikeleasing inspection package, you are entitled to two inspections (as per service catalog) that include: general inspection: frame, gear shift, chain, belt, handlebars, brakes, seat, suspension, accessories, lighting system, bottom bracket, wheels, battery, motor, service update for e-bikes.

Insurance coverage in the event of theft requires you to lock the frame of your company bicycle with a high-quality brand-name lock to a firmly anchored object (e.g. bicycle stand, lamp-post, traffic sign) in such a way that the bike cannot easily be stolen. However, this does not apply as long as the bicycle is under supervision or in a room that is enclosed and locked from all sides and is not accessible to the public or used as a common room or communal stand.
